CSC’s annual Summer production Romeo & Juliet in 2009 raised an outstanding £10,000 for Thames Hospicecare.

“We have supported local hospices several times over the past 10 years as they do such excellent work and our level of contribution can make a real difference to them,” said Felicity Norrie, Vice President of CSC. “We are delighted with this particular contribution and envisage the funds can be used to expand the Hospice at Home service which is such a valuable development.”

Hospice at Home provides one-to-one nursing support in the home to patients with cancer and other advanced illnesses. As well as helping the patient the service offers respite to the patient’s family who are often the primary carers in the home.

Michelle Bowdidge, Community & Events Fundraiser at Thames Hospicecare knows that the funds will be put to immediate use:

“Since we have to raise the vast majority of our income from voluntary donations this is a wonderful gift to have received. Hospice at Home is a vital part of our work and one that we would like to expand. Having these funds will help us tremendously. We are so grateful to Chiltern Shakespeare, The Lions and everyone that attended Romeo & Juliet,” said Michelle.
